Our Story
Founded in 2020 in Australia with a clear purpose, to redefine workwear for modern hair professionals
Created inside the salon environment, the brand was built to solve a real, everyday problem. Stylists needed garments that could handle bleach, long hours, and constant movement without sacrificing style or comfort.
So we designed something better.
From the beginning, every piece was created to be bleach-proof, durable, and consciously made. No unnecessary details. No compromises. Just elevated essentials that perform under pressure and look refined doing it.
Designed For Performance
Ape is not just clothing - it’s a tool of the trade.
Each garment is designed specifically for the demands of the salon. Lightweight, functional, and built to move with you through every appointment, every transformation, every long day.
This is workwear that supports your craft, not something you have to think about.
At the same time, we believe longevity is the most sustainable choice. By creating high-quality pieces that last, we reduce waste and move away from disposable fashion.
A New Chapter
In late 2025, Ape The Label entered a new chapter under the ownership of Chandré.
This wasn’t a handover to someone new. It was a continuation from within.
Chandré was one of the brand’s very first employees, working closely inside the business during its early stages. She understood the product, the purpose, and most importantly, the people it was built for.
What began as a role quickly became something more. A long-term vision to grow the brand, refine it, and take it further.
Today, her focus is simple. Protect what made Ape strong, and elevate everything else.
Built For What's Next
Ape continues to evolve with the industry it was created for.
We remain focused on delivering premium, functional workwear that gives stylists confidence in their environment - pieces that feel considered, look refined, and perform without compromise.
Everything we create is built around one idea:
When your workwear works, you can focus on what matters.
A Note From Chandré
When I first started working with Ape, I never imagined I would one day be leading it.
I was there in the early days, learning the product, understanding the industry, and seeing firsthand what this brand meant to the people wearing it.
Stepping into this role wasn’t about changing Ape. It was about continuing what made it strong, and taking it further.
My focus has always been simple. To create pieces that genuinely support stylists in their day-to-day work, while building a brand that feels considered, reliable, and worth investing in.
If you’re wearing Ape, you’re part of that journey.
And I’m genuinely grateful for that.
